literally translates to “kill him/her” in lingala (🇨🇩). the term is very often used in congolese combat sports as a war cry to encourage native athletes to lock in and overpower their opponents by any means necessary. popularised in 1973 by Muhammed Ali during his famous fight vs George Foreman in the congo which has been labeled since as the “Rumble in the Jungle”
